4 miles 42:22 minutes

It has been more than a week...what am I to do? Well, the race isn't until next month. It is cold out. I need the snot gloves. It was a beautiful sunny day but there was frost on the vegetation along the path. Pretty soon down by the water will be the warm part of town. It is Halloween and dark by 5:30 yuck. I guess I had better get used to it. My plan is to run during the days on my work-at-home days. I haven't been able to do that yet. It is too hard to get out of bed in the morning. I am not up until 8:00 and then I don't feel like taking time away from work. Today is also the last day to say, "The race isn't until next month." 10:43; 10:41; 10:40; 10:22 Hey, check it out, I ran faster.

3 miles 32:36

First two miles were uncomfortable. I dressed too warmly. The last mile felt better after I took off my jacket. I think I should register for the run. 11:05; 10:33; 10:56

5 miles 54:32 minutes
Got up in the morning because I knew that I would get working on the room and not have time to run for the rest of the day. This was the first run since my hiatus that I was able to let my thoughts wander a bit. I am still not up to speed but all of my miles were about 11min.

Joe is here doing the electrical. I was supposed to help him but he doesn't seen to need my help so I just pay for the supplies and build the stairs. My work week this week leaves no time for running. I might be able to squeeze it in Monday at 4:00, or Tuesday or Thurday on a lunch break. The days just keep getting shorter.

I was going to say sunny but as I went out after sunset that would be misleading. I thought I wasn't going to be able to run tonight since I was in Bremerton. but there was still some light so on the drive home I got psyched up to just go in the house, change, and do a short run. It will be increasingly difficult to fit this in on these short winter days. I am thinking that I need to take some running lunches. That would be a great thing for those days when I am working at home just waiting for the time to pass.

I know I was supposed to go running this week-end as part of my new plan but I didn't. So there. Instead we worked on The Room. We have tried to give it a nickname but nothing sticks so it remains The Room. On Saturday we put in the floor. It took us all day so no running time. My mother is concerned that we have advisers to make sure we are doing it "right". I told her not to worry that even if we do it wrong no one is going to fall off the floor and hurt themselves. On Sunday I finished the floor and fixed the mistake with the stairs (I think). I could have gone running but it was a crappy weather day so no running. Today I was totally out of the running mind set but sitting down to check my e-mail I accidently clicked on my blog and reminded myself.

4 miles 43:58

My plan is working. Although, this is also the spot that the wheels come off the wagon. Going running twice in one week hasn't been a problem, it is that third run... I guess I should wait until my run this week-end to announce that the plan is working. As I was running along I noticed fresh paint for a 5K and 10K along the trail. I could do the 5K if I knew what it was, when it was, where it was. Or I could just sleep in. My big plan for Saturday is to install the floor in the guest room.

4 miles 44:25
It has been almost a month since my last post and almost as long since my last run. It is a new day, a new month. It is almost a new year. I have a new plan.
I am now officially training for the 10K on November 26 which I may be running with L our favorite lawyer. Just to make sure I could still do this I set a goal of 4 miles tonight. I figured that if I could still run 4 miles, I could do a 10K in 6 weeks. I am hoping this is all it will take to get back in the swing of things. I already have the new shoes and new bra.

5.24 +5.23 = 10.47
11.06
11.15
5.51 + 5.23 = 11.14

So do I set a goal pace?
