S 7/8/07 5 miles 56 minutes
6:00 60 degrees; cloudy.

This was my "long" run. It felt okay, but I am not the habit of running so far and almost forgot where I was on the trail. My right quad felt tight and a bit sore after mile 3. I think I can increase my distance to 4 miles next week. I am going to keep track of how my knees feel. I also have to think of some cross training activities and strength & stretching.

Almost forgot to go running. I finished in the workshop and was going to sit and have a beer when I went running instead. This run felt much better than my last. I think I will try for a "long" run tomorrow, which just means 4 or 5 miles.

7:45 62 degrees; sunny and in my eyes on the way back.


My calves were sore from lack of use. I will like it when I get back to my longer runs so I can run through the discomfort and get in a few minutes of pain free running. I am starting all over with my training. I 'd like to get a two weeks of 3 - 4 mile runs every other day. If I can do that I will reward myself with a new pair of sneakers and set some training goals.

So here we are, several months later. I need a new goal. I am out of shape and my miles are slow. 5.36, 5.38, 5.26, 1.04 (walk), 5.48, 6.08, 4.53 - not a full mile.
